Screening of "Rosie" (CH 2013, Swiss-German/English Subtitles 106min)

Since 1985, Marcel Gisler has been producing remarkable films celebrating international success. Gisler is an exceptional phenomenon: living in Berlin, he has been the most significant Swiss voice in Queer cinema for over 20 years.

In collaboration with Frameline San Francisco, the Pink Apple Film Festival Zurich, the largest and most important LGBT film festival in Switzerland, organizes screenings of Marcel Gisler's four latest works.

Rosie
Lorenz, a successful gay author, leaves Berlin and returns to eastern Switzerland to look after his mother, Rosie, who has suffered a stroke. Struggling to come to terms with Rosie’s illness and old age, Lorenz plunges into an affair with Mario, a young fan of his work. But when Mario starts making serious demands, Lorenz feels overwhelmed by the affair. Though clearly attracted to Mario, Lorenz is unable to be true to his feelings, shying away from the responsibility for the considerably younger man.

On Wednesday, October 24, 6pm you also have the opportunity to attend a unique encounter with Marcel Gisler.
